Better than NONE!

Ok...2 things i would like to share...

Firstly, I've confirmed my trip to London and Eastern Europ coming end Apr..yahoo!! and i managed to get the cheapest class air ticket at the MAS Travel Fair! Will be visiting:

London, United Kingdom
Budapest, Hungary
Vienna, Austria
Prague, Czech Republic and
Amsterdam, Netherlands

Total 4 of us going...backpacking and gonna spent 2 weeks there....uuuu~~~~ excited!

Secondly....I'm actually not a hardcore 4D gamblers...BUT ocassionally i do invest a bit just to try my luck if i happened to pass by those Da Ma Cai, Magnum or Toto shop. So...i've tried my luck at toto this time and bought 2 lucky picks which is system generated.

So i was checking results just now and i've won 5th prize for the toto 6D....ok...next thing i can think of is how much is the payout? coz i have hardly buy toto....not really high hope la coz its only RM1 bet...thought can get RM100 like that to subsidize my air ticket a bit la...

Guess what???? the payout is RM4!!!!! i feel like wanna faint!

So............ the next thing i tell myself is BETTER THAN NONE!....

whoever read this....cannot laugh!!

Whaling

Can anyone stop this??....so heartsick to see this...

A good reason not to fly

A large two engined train was crossing America. After they had gone some distance one of the engines broke down. "No problem," the engineer thought, and carried on at half power. Farther on down the line, the other engine broke down, and the train came to a standstill. The engineer decided he should inform the passengers about why the train had stopped, and made the following announcement:

"Ladies and gentlemen, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that both engines have failed, and we will be stuck here for some time. The good news is that you decided to take the train and not fly."

Global warming...u care?

I know i dont look like someone who is soooo concern about environment....but trust me pls...i actually really care about it....just that to date i have yet to do something significant towards it :P

I still remember last year major cinemas in malaysia showed the award winning documentary by Al Gore - An Inconvenient Truth. I actually watched it alone in the cinema...imagine i have never watch a movie alone in the cinema in my entire life before that! No choice lo...no one want to watch with me....haihh

So after watching it...my fear towards global warming actually doubled! We don't need to wait for governments to find a solution for this problem: each individual can bring an important help adopting a more responsible lifestyle: starting from little, everyday things. It's the only reasonable way to save our planet, before it is too late.

See if u practice one or two from below....if not, please consider to start at least one or two now...

  1. Clean or replace filters on your furnace and air conditionerCleaning a dirty air filter can save 350 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

  2. Choose energy efficient appliances when making new purchase.

  3. Do not leave appliances on standbyUse the "on/off" function on the machine itself.

  4. Move your fridge and freezer. Placing them next to the cooker or boiler consumes much more energy than if they were standing on their own.

  5. Defrost old fridges and freezers regularly. Even better is to replace them with newer models, which all have automatic defrost cycles and are generally up to two times more energy-efficient than their predecessors.

  6. Cover your pots while cooking.

  7. Use the washing machine or dishwasher only when they are full. If you need to use it when it is half full, then use the half-load or economy setting. There is also no need to set the temperatures high. Nowadays detergents are so efficient that they get your clothes and dishes clean at low temperatures.

  8. Use less hot water. It takes a lot of energy to heat water.

  9. Be sure you’re recycling at home.

  10. Buy intelligently. One bottle of 1.5l requires less energy and produces less waste than three bottles of 0.5l.

  11. Choose products that come with little packaging and buy refills when you can.

  12. Reuse your shopping bag.

  13. Reduce waste.

  14. Plant a tree. A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime.

  15. Buy locally grown and produced foods.

  16. Buy fresh foods instead of frozen.

  17. Buy organic foods as much as possible.

  18. Eat less meat.

  19. Reduce the number of miles you drive by walking, biking, carpooling or taking mass transit wherever possible.

  20. Start a carpool with your coworkers or classmates.

  21. Don't leave an empty roof rack on your car. This can increase fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

  22. Keep your car tuned up.Regular maintenance helps improve fuel efficiency and reduces emissions.

  23. Drive carefully and do not waste fuel.

  24. When it is time for a new car, choose a more fuel efficient vehicle.

  25. Fly less. Air travel produces large amounts of emissions.

  26. SHARE THIS LIST!!

For me, i will try to achieve at least 10 from above....you may make your move also...

Go go go...

Thoughts of LRT life....

Well, since i started my current new job...i've also changed my transport mode to work...instead of driving i am now taking LRT to work....My best friend always tease me....can you take it or not ar? cramp like sardine ge wo....those ppl with very strong body odour ge wo....need to walk a lot ge wo....bla bla bla....yeah, the first 2 days really suffer a bit...but guess wat...i've get used to it and accepted it happily after a week. I am always proud of my ability to adapt :P

So....everday without fail take LRT to work la...heavy rain also no problem...i got carry my little umbrella for me...so 3 months passed and nothing special happened until yesterday wanted to go back from work...LRT was down! i think i only after 3 months only kena once...not too bad huh?

So when i was at the station...i saw a long longggggg queue of ppl....queing to buy tickets....initial they allowed ppl with touch n go & monthly pass to go in....but being hak chai...my touch n go card is not functioning....keep trying n trying until those ppl closed up the gate totally also tak jadi go in.....so i stand aside...a bit stone there...watching those ppl queing there, some just too tired and sit on floor....some travel with few plastic bags....some are students with hand carry text book...kids, teenage, adults, senior citizens...the scene is like the recently stranded china ppl at the train station b4 CNY due to the snow storm....i was lost...dunno wat to do next...should i wait? join the queue? grab a cab? - no, coz cant afford. take a bus? - but i dunno which and where is the right bus stop... or walk back to office? - no la, already so eager to go home...or is there anyone out there can tumpang me?.....

I was telling myself...think apple, dun panic....so ....i end up calling my best pal which is working nearby...luckily she is in office today, coz usually she will be around other places....and luckily she is going back early today...coz usually she will work late....guess my luck is not too bad huh?

Think about it...its good to have ur friends nearby......and i am glad of that...
think about it again....wats going to happen if i am alone at a totally new living environment? no frens, no families around you....there is just no one for u to call when u need help.....ooooooo....i've decided to give it a break...dun wan to think further and stress myself....life goes on...gambateh >.<~

Coral Reefs

Just wanna share some facts on coral reefs....love your reefs like how you love your loved ones..

Coral reefs are among the oldest ecosystems on Earth.

Coral reefs are the largest living structure on the planet.

Although coral reefs cover less than 1% of the Earth’s surface, they are home to 25% of all marine fish species.

500 million people rely on coral reefs for their food and livelihoods.

Coral reefs form natural barriers that protect nearby shorelines from the eroding forces of the sea, thereby protecting coastal dwellings, agricultural land and beaches.

Without the existence of coral reefs, parts of Florida would be under water.

Coral reefs have been used in the treatment of cancer, HIV, cardiovascular diseases and ulcers.

Corals' porous limestone skeletons have been used for human bone grafts.

It is estimated that coral reefs provide $375 billion per year around the world in goods and services.

If the present rate of destruction continues, 70% of the world's coral reefs will be destroyed by the year 2050. --> How scary huh??
